“Aladore by Henry Newbolt, Illustrated in Collotype from drawings by The Lady Hylton.”

These illustrations are from the digitized 1915 edition of Aladore.  The titles come from the list of illustrations in the table of contents.  I cropped each image out of the full page scans and did some light editing (see this post).

They are all in the public domain.

Henry and Alice had a passionate affair while they collaborated on the creation of Aladore.  The illustrations seem to have a personal element with close likenesses to the pair.  Images such as “How Ywain found his Lady in a Garden” seem autobiographical, as they were known to meet in the formal gardens of London.
